Last January during Sanctity of Human Life month, I was sharing a message about the value of human life in a local church. After, a man named Devin* came up to me and shared something I’d never heard someone say:
I’m tired of pretending to care about human life.
When I asked him what he meant, he elaborated: “I’ve always said that I’m pro-life, but I’ve never really done anything about it. I want to change that.”
Today, Devin is one of our fatherhood coaches, supporting young men who weren’t anticipating being a father at this stage of their life and mentoring several new dads.
With this being Sanctity of Human Life Month and the start of a new year, I’d like to ask you to consider this question: how is God calling you to engage in valuing life in 2020?
I realize not everyone may be in position to support Life Network financially, but here are two specific ways you can take life-changing action to join us in valuing the lives of the moms, dads, students and babies we serve.
VOLUNTEER: Is God prompting you to explore serving those in need of support by volunteering? We currently need men, like Devin, with parenting experience who are willing to be trained as a fatherhood mentor and parenting coach.
We also are seeking women with a heart for the life issue who are willing to be a voice of hope to young women overwhelmed in the face of an unexpected pregnancy – and serve as a client advocate.
Those are just two of several opportunities we have right now to be the hands and feet of Christ by volunteering at Life Network. If you are interested in more information, visit our volunteer opportunities page. Or, send a quick email to Brenda for details.
PRAY: We know both from what we see and from Scripture that God answers our prayers: “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, he hears us (I John 5:14).” So many of the miracles we see God work daily in our centers wouldn’t be possible without prayer support.
Is God prompting you to support human life by praying regularly? Would you be willing to receive an email at the start of each month, which provides prayer points for that month? Email us today and say that you are willing to commit to pray for us and want to receive our monthly prayer email.
We talk regularly about the transformation that happens in the lives of our clients. But we also see Christ transform the lives of those who volunteer and routinely pray for us. Those who pray and serve regularly at our centers share with us how serving in these ways draws them closer to Christ.
Thank you for considering joining us and growing your pro-life commitment in 2020 through your prayers and actions in support of the moms, dads, students and babies we serve.
To God be the glory!

P.S. If you are in position to demonstrate your pro-life commitment by supporting us financially, that would be a tremendous blessing to us and the young people we serve. A monthly gift of any size ensures we can continue providing our free services year-round. Our Partners for Life page has more details. Grace on you!
