I love that we start the year with Sanctity of Human Life month. When you consider the tremendous value that God places on human life – and the reality that all human life belongs to Him – it is fitting to begin each year by setting aside time to reflect on its incredible worth.
January was designated Sanctity of Human Life month in response to the anniversary of Roe vs. Wade. Since the fateful U.S. Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion in 1973, over 60 million abortions have taken place in our nation. The number of human lives lost are more than 10 times the population of Colorado!
To many, seeing such a large number can feel overwhelming. But take heart … you make an enormous difference one life at a time when you join with us to see life in our community valued. Every life matters and with your help, we will continue to value each person God puts in front of us, whether in our pregnancy centers, in a classroom or in our thrift store.
Here are a few practical ways God may be calling you to engage in 2021 to see the lives of moms, dads, students and babies valued:
- Volunteer – One way to help us value each life is to work alongside us in one of our many volunteer opportunities at our pregnancy centers, thrift store and more! Visit our volunteer page for our current volunteer opportunities and to apply online.
- Donate Items – The new and like-new items our moms and dads earn in our parenting program all come from people like you. View a complete list of needed items and details on how to drop off donations.
- Pray – Every day, there are women and men in our city considering abortion. Your prayers can make an eternal difference in their lives and the life of their preborn baby. Our prayer needs are updated monthly on our website or you can sign up to receive our monthly prayer newsletter.
- Support – The financial support of individuals, organizations and churches make it possible for us to offer all our services at no charge. Committing to support us each month enables our team to be here for every life God brings through our doors.
