“I’m so glad I can donate to a thrift store that benefits local families and supports something I believe in.”
I’ve heard this sentiment expressed many times since we opened the Life Network Family Thrift Store exactly two years ago this month. Our thrift store serves our clients through gift cards they earn to help meet their family’s needs. But it also serves the larger community – including families like yours – by offering a large selection of affordable, gently-used items. All thrift store proceeds then go toward our life-giving ministry.
I remember what an answer to prayer it was when we first toured the convenient location a 5406 N Academy (the stoplight at Academy and Montebello). Then this spring, we got the opportunity to expand at this same location to the now more than 8,000 square feet we have today.
If you haven’t visited our store yet, I’d encourage you to see it for yourself! Here are three ways you can get involved:
- Shop: We only sell items that are in a condition that will bring joy to someone else. That means, when you shop, you’re going to get quality items at excellent prices. As a customer named Reese shared in our most recent Google review: “This thrift store has some great gems at great prices! Please keep sending your donations here!”
- Donate: As Reese’s review encourages, it’s your gently used items that keep our store so nice. We happily accept women’s, men’s and children’s clothes and shoes … housewares … jewelry and accessories … furniture … home décor and dishware … toys, collectibles and antiques … and more. - Volunteer: A close-knit community of about 20 volunteers serves at our store each week, and what we do at the Store wouldn’t be possible without them. We’re currently seeking 10 more individuals to volunteer their time a few hours each week to help sort, price and stock items; work the register; or drive and/or load our Store vehicle, Phil the Truck.
