This Privacy Policy applies to Life Network and www.elifenetwork.com (Life Network Website) and governs data collection and usage for donors and other constituents who support the ministry of Life Network (Supporters) in various ways. Unless otherwise noted, all references to Life Network include Life Network Website and Life Network.  

By accessing or using the Life Network Website, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not consent to the same, please do not access or use the Life Network Website.

What We Collect 

You may be required to provide certain personal information to us when you elect to access services on this Life Network Website, which include the following: you sign up to receive email or information via the mail, request information about job or volunteer opportunities, register for events, donate, or other activities. We do not collect your personal information on this website unless you voluntarily provide it. 

To better provide services to Life Network Supporters, Life Network may collect personally identifiable information, such as your:  

  • First and Last Name 
  • Name of your spouse or family member 
  • Personal interest information, including the type of information you would like to receive from Life Network, volunteer opportunities, surveys, and other information to help effectively serve you.

  • E-mail Address

Automatically Collected Information  

Life Network may automatically collect information about your computer hardware and software. This information can include your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times, and referring website addresses. This information is used to operate the service, maintain its quality, and provide general statistics regarding using the Life Network website.  

 

What We Do With the Information We Collect 

We require personally identifiable information to understand our Supporter needs, to improve Supporter services, and for the following reasons: 

  • Process donations and provide receipts for your giving. We use third parties to accept and process credit card payments for donations and other financial transactions. 
  • We also use this information to update you about how your gift has been used.  
  • Register you for events, which may be done through third parties. 
  • For internal record keeping. 
  • To improve Life Network Supporter content and services. 
  • We may periodically send you emails about Life Network’s work, giving opportunities, prayer requests, or other information that we think you may find interesting using the email or other address information that you have provided.  
  • We may also use your information to contact you for research purposes. We may contact you by email, phone, or mail.  
  • We may use your information to customize the Life Network Website according to your interests.  

At Life Network, we treat the confidentiality of your information, and your trust in providing it, very seriously. We do not share your contact or financial data with third parties except those providing us with services, such as a mailing service. Furthermore, we carefully screen and evaluate those whom we use to provide such services. These companies are prohibited from using your personal information for purposes other than those expressly requested by us or required by law.  

Occasionally, we share demographic and traffic data with advertisers and third parties. The data we share is not personally identifiable and is mixed with similar data from others

Life Network may disclose your personal information, without notice, if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with any legal process served on Life Network; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of Life Network; and/or (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of Life Network or the public.

The Life Network Website may use “cookies” to help you personalize your online experience. A cookie is a text file placed on your hard disk by a web page server. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, you acknowledge that (a) there are security and privacy limitations inherent to the Internet that are beyond our control and (b) the security, integrity, and privacy of any information and data exchanged between you and us through this Site cannot be guaranteed.  

The security of your information is important to us, and we will use reasonable security measures to prevent the loss, misuse, or unauthorized alteration of your information under our control. However, given the inherent risks, we cannot guarantee absolute security, and consequently, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk.  

Children Under Thirteen 

Our website is not directed at children under the age of 13. We assume donations made through credit cards are made by adults or minors supervised by a parent or guardian. We respect the privacy of children and the rights of parents to protect their children and are committed to complying with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).  

Notice to California Residents 

If you are a California resident, California law permits you to annually request a list of the third parties to whom we have disclosed your personal information (if any) for their direct marketing purposes and the type of personal information disclosed to those parties. Notice to Non-US Users 

As the Internet is a global environment, collecting and processing personal information may involve transmitting this data internationally, including in and/or outside the United States. Therefore, by communicating electronically with us, you acknowledge and agree to have your personal data processed this way. 

Specifically, if you are located outside of the United States, please be aware that by using the Life Network Website, your personal information may be transferred to the United States, the privacy laws of which may be deemed by your country to have inadequate data protection. If you are located outside of the United States and voluntarily submit personal information to us, you thereby consent to the general use of such information as provided in this Privacy Policy and to the transfer of that information to and/or storage of that information in the United States. Nevertheless, the Life Network Website is intended for users only within the United States.  

Social Media Sites 

When you interact with the Life Network Website on a social media platform, such as Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Pinterest, or Instagram, we may collect the personal information that you make available to us on that page or account, including your user ID and/or user name, and any information you have made public in connection with that social media service. Please note, however, that we will comply with the privacy policies of the corresponding social media platform and only collect and store such personal information that we are permitted to collect by these social media platforms. 

Life Network may, but has no obligation, to monitor the materials posted to its social media sites. Notwithstanding this right, you remain solely responsible for the content of the materials you post to any Life Network social media page. Once a post is submitted, it may be reviewed by Life Network staff moderators for privacy, appropriateness, and/or the use of any personal information and removed. Life Network may contact or respond to users individually regarding the nature or content of their posts. In addition, Life Network may remove any posts that violate the law or these posting guidelines or for any other reason in Life Network’s sole discretion. Life Network may remove the opportunity to comment on any thread at its own discretion.
