Jessie (not her real name) came to the center recently, set on abortion. She was going to nursing school and already had two children. The father, to whom she was not married, didn’t want more kids.
Jessie said she was a believer in Jesus Christ and did not think abortion was the right answer. But when her pregnancy test came back positive, she said she didn’t see any other way.
After a conversation with the patient advocate, Jessie revealed that she had already called Planned Parenthood — but just to ask questions, not schedule an appointment. They had immediately
and coldly pressured her to schedule an abortion. Jessie said they were pushing her hard toward abortion.
Feeling that something was definitely off and unwilling to be rushed by Planned Parenthood, Jessie turned to the Internet for help — as so many women do today.
She found the center and scheduled an appointment to talk to someone in person.
She was so glad that she took the time to pause and think about her next steps.
The patient advocate assured Jessie she could take all the time she needed to make this life-altering decision. Jessie went into the ultrasound room, still unsure of what to do.
After the ultrasound, her face lit up. She said she had made up her mind to give her baby life!
Once she made the decision to choose life, Jessie was so relieved she started crying. As you might imagine, we praise God for giving Jessie the courage to give her child the chance to live!
