Jocelyn found the courage to choose LIFE for her baby.

Jocelyn had scheduled an abortion … but she found the courage to choose LIFE for her baby.

When Jocelyn (not her real name) told the father
of her baby she was pregnant, his response crushed her.
He wasn’t ready to be a father. He didn’t want kids. And he told Jocelyn she should get an
abortion.

Feeling disillusioned, Jocelyn told no one else . . . and had every intention of following his advice. She feared disappointing her mother, a “good Christian.” What if she was met with only judgment and shame? Or even kicked out? Not knowing how her family would respond was
enough to hold Jocelyn back from embracing her
pregnancy. She didn’t want to fail them.

All on her own, Jocelyn sought options, consultation, and an initial scan. Because her pregnancy could not be confirmed, she was asked to return in two weeks.

Jocelyn’s second ultrasound revealed a seven-week-old baby with a beating heart.  Seeing and hearing her baby for the first time compelled her
to share what happened during the two-week wait between appointments . . . She had already scheduled an abortion.

But something in her hesitated. Jocelyn prayed and asked God, “Tell me what to do.” She had already scheduled an abortion. But something in her hesitated. Jocelyn prayed and asked God, “Tell me what to do.” She felt God answering her prayers with clear direction to tell her
mom.

The next morning, Jocelyn called her mom.

The conversation ended tensely — only for Jocelyn’s mom to call back and say, “I realize this baby is a gift from God. I will fully support you and this
pregnancy.” Jocelyn’s fear and shame melted into joy. She was
spared from making a decision she knew she’d regret.
