From Fear to Courage: Angela’s Choice for Life

Angela* found our center through a Google search. When she arrived, she told our staff that she wanted an abortion. The client advocate met with Angela to confirm her pregnancy and go over Angela’s options. They also had the opportunity to discuss spiritual topics. “I’m not really a religious person,” Angela said, “but I’m open to hearing more.”

The client advocate was able to share the gospel, and Angela decided to pray a prayer inviting Christ into her life. When Angela had an ultrasound, her baby was very active. Angela was visibly moved by seeing this new life. But Angela remained undecided about the baby. She was nervous about giving birth. She was worried about what her family and friends would think.

Our team continued to pray and reach out to Angela via text and phone calls. One day, our prayers were answered: “We’ve decided to keep the baby,” Angela said. She and her boyfriend came in for another ultrasound. Angela picked out a handcrafted baby blanket.

Angela told our staff that she was a new Christian. “I want to find a church to attend,” she said. Angela says she is grateful for the help of the pregnancy center. “You were supportive and non-judgmental. You didn’t push me to make any decisions.”
