As soon as Dean heard his girlfriend was pregnant, he began pushing Molly (not their real names) toward an abortion. “I didn’t want to have a baby,” Dean admits.
He didn’t feel ready to be a dad. “I’m not going to be able to do this,” Dean kept telling himself.
Feeling pressured, Molly had already made an appointment at an abortion clinic. “I really didn’t have any support in my pregnancy. I was feeling really down and depressed,” Molly shares.
That’s when Molly and Dean reached out for help.
When the couple arrived seeking help, support and answers, Molly felt seen. She felt heard. “For the first time, someone embraced my pregnancy and made me feel like this was a positive thing, and not a negative thing.”
Then they saw their baby on the ultrasound screen. Suddenly, instead of a “problem” to solve, Molly and Dean’s baby seemed real . . . like a person.
That moment changed everything for Dean. “Just seeing the heartbeat, I got really emotional. Because that’s my baby. That baby is a part of me,” Dean finally realized.
The couple hadn’t shared their pregnancy with anyone else yet. But that night, Dean met his brother at a local cafe. “I talked to my brother about it. We literally cried. And I was like, I can’t do this to my baby.”
Dean’s heart had changed, completely. He realized Molly needed his help. Not his pressure. That’s when Dean told Molly he would fully support her during her pregnancy. “I let her know that I’m here for her — anything she needs.”
The couple continued receiving care at the center. They grew stronger in their relationship — and in their faith.
“We’re working on building our relationship together, as well as with God,” shares Molly.
After a healthy pregnancy, Molly gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. She and Dean are looking forward to buying a new home soon. And Dean can’t imagine life without his daughter.
“This baby is just a big blessing to my life, as well as Molly’s life.”
Molly feels thankful to supporters like you for helping her when she needed it the most: “I will forever be grateful. With support, I have my daughter here with me now. This experience has had a big impact on our lives.”
