In the wake of this week’s election, I find myself reflecting on these truths:
- At a national level, the people have re-elected an administration that has a 4-year track record at affirming life.
- Our state continues to disappoint when it comes to valuing human life at the ballot box and in our current legislature.
- Through your support, the Lord is serving more moms and dads … saving more babies’ lives … and pointing more people to Christ through Life Network than ever before.
The pro-life movement had big wins in Florida, South Dakota, and Nebraska, but tragically not in Colorado. Like you, I am fiercely disappointed that 61.5% of our state’s voters bought the lies behind Amendment 79. It’s especially disheartening given the hard work of so many individuals, churches, and leaders who tried to stop it. Abortion was legal until birth prior to this vote, and now it’s been placed into Colorado’s Constitution – and our taxes can be used to fund it.
Here in Colorado Springs, we will persevere, continue to innovate, and do all that we can locally and beyond to offer choices other than abortion. In the wake of this heartbreaking outcome for our state, I urge you to do as Christ reminds us in John 16:33: Take heart, I have overcome the world.
Through your faithful support and prayers, Life Network’s Colorado Springs Pregnancy Centers saved an astounding 583 babies from abortion this past year! Since we have clinic coverage six days a week, that means nearly TWO BABIES SAVED EVERY DAY.

When they first came last month, Latisha did not want to be pregnant and was considering abortion because she and her husband had no support systems in place here in Colorado Springs. Last week, despite still being nervous about having a baby, she came to her ultrasound appointment. By the time they left, Latisha and Calvin chose life for their baby! Latisha accepted prayer from our nurse and a list of local churches that could provide the support system Latisha and Calvin need.
On this week of highs and lows, know that your support and prayers inspire us as we show and share the love of Christ through our life-affirming services. Your disappointment about the passing of Amendment 79 is shared by our staff, who each day are on the front lines meeting women who feel trapped into choosing abortion.
