Leah* was pregnant … and she was homeless. Some nights she slept on the floor at her mother’s place. Other nights she was in her car. The great-grandparents who had raised her had both passed away, and the father of the baby was a friend, not someone she saw a future with. As she talked with our team, she broke down and said, “I feel all alone.”

Our team met her right where she was. They talked through her options and the support available to her. And then the conversation went somewhere deeper.

“I’m angry at God,” Leah told us. With her permission, the advocate shared who God really is: not distant or uncaring, but present. A God who meets us in our pain. Leah said she wanted a relationship with Him, even though she wasn’t ready to pray out loud. So our team prayed over her and walked her through what it means to know Christ.

She left with a Bible, a devotional, and the beginning of something new.

Her situation did not change overnight. She was still facing real challenges. But she wasn’t alone anymore. She later called to say she wanted to keep her baby and asked about getting involved with our Motherhood program.

That’s what your partnership makes possible. Together for Life, you help us come alongside women in a difficult moment, and introduce them to Jesus, the One who stays with them long after they walk out our doors.
