Sarah Needed a Place to Breathe —You Made It Possible

When Sarah came to us, she felt torn. Only months earlier, she had experienced an abortion and was still experiencing grief from that decision. Now she faced another unexpected pregnancy. Sarah was overwhelmed by custody battles caused by a prior relationship, limited support, and pressure about future plans.

“I feel stuck right in the middle of this decision,” she admitted, unsure whether she could continue the pregnancy and completely overwhelmed. Sarah longed for a safe place to breathe.

Because of donors like you, she found exactly that.

We listened. We offered space to slow her thoughts, practical resources to help her feel grounded, and gentle encouragement to take one step at a time instead of feeling pressured to decide everything at once.

As trust grew, Sarah opened up about her spiritual journey. She shared that she believed in Jesus and had experienced God’s love in powerful ways.

But life had become busy and complicated. She wasn’t praying like she used to. She hadn’t been to church in a long time. Sarah wondered if God still drew near.

Our patient advocate reminded Sarah that when she seeks God, He shows up. He always has. And He would meet her here, too, right in the middle of these overwhelming decisions.

As Sarah processed her fears and hopes, clarity began to replace confusion. At the end of her visit, Sarah and her fiancé decided to parent their baby. She even picked out a soft baby blanket and toured our baby boutique – small but meaningful steps that helped this new hope feel real.

“I felt like my head was a tornado coming in,” she said. “Now I feel calm again.”
