Two Pink Lines, One Life-Changing Choice

Charity* was just 18 years old … a college student with dreams of medical school and a carefully planned future. Then two pink lines changed everything.

Pregnant and scared, she walked into one of our pregnancy centers leaning toward abortion. She wasn’t looking to rush a decision. Charity simply wanted to understand her options.

Her 17-year-old boyfriend sat beside her as our nurse compassionately walked through each path before them: parenting, adoption, or abortion. When adoption came up, Charity admitted she knew little about it. “It’s not like foster care,” our nurse explained, taking time to describe what adoption could look like for her and for her baby.

She left that day uncertain, but open.

Charity enrolled in our Parenting Program, not because she had decided, but because she needed time and support. As weeks passed, her heart began to shift. She encountered genuine care, practical resources, and encouragement without pressure.

Then came the ultrasound.

In that quiet room, seeing her baby on the screen, fear gave way to awe. Charity knew she couldn’t go through an abortion.

That moment will shape the rest of their lives. Charity and her boyfriend chose life — and a new beginning.
