Cass* was overjoyed about being a mom.
When she found out she was pregnant, she came to one of our Colorado Springs Pregnancy Centers full of hope. She was excited about her baby, looking forward to the ultrasound, and — for the first time in a long while — optimistic about her future. She had a partner she believed she could count on, and she was ready to build a stable life for her child.
Then, a few weeks ago, she called us sobbing.
The support she was counting on was gone. Overwhelmed, alone, and afraid, Cass shared that she had purchased abortion pills. She felt like it was her only option.
Cass’s story is a sad reminder that many women pursue abortion, not because they want to, but because they feel isolated and out of options. That is exactly why we offer services like Early Pregnancy Care and the Parenting Program: So we can walk alongside women like Cass longer, earlier, and closer, before they ever feel that alone.
